It could give Stefan another reason to go to Mt. Weather if Elijah decides to tell him that he should go. Besides. Stefan's the only Salvatore that Elijah can actually tolerate. I think that if they had more scenes together, they would have become decent friends. Or at least been on better terms with each other.
