Hundreds upon a time...
I wish I could tell you the story you are about to read is one of enthralling beauty and fascinating greatness. But I would be lying, and I feel obliged to speak truthfully. In this journey, I shall be your guide and show you the way throughout lands of endless forestry and infinite desolation. I must warn you that my voice is not that of a friend, simply that of a storyteller who will narrate the truth, and the truth only.
Once upon a time, in a land with magic, heroes and villains from all existing legends and stories had been trapped once more all together. Forever trapped into dark curses, as soon as one ended it seemed like another one took its place. So much that our courageous heroes had no respite should they want to find their happy endings and survive the great Evil coming their ways. The Dark Ones were powerful but so were the saviours, would light triumph over darkness? Only time would give us the answers we seek…
Once upon a time, in a land without magic, twelve clans united in an effort to fight against an even greater threat. When night comes, when all lights are out, only one menace is to be feared and this is what comes from the sky and falls on earth. People from the sky had been bestowed with the stars’ knowledge, they knew things the earthers could not begin to imagine and yet, they had omitted to take one thing into account. They knew very little about earth, and despite their wonderful technologies, this would turn out to be quite the trap.
I did say a land without magic, did I not? Oh but it was not always the case. There was a time where, so many humans populated earth. And hidden in dark alleys and among the very humans, lived creatures of Satan. Vampires, werewolves, witches, like in old stories and gore tales. But unlike these stories, they were very real. Vampires, hybrids, they bore the name ‘immortal’, which by definition means they could not be killed, does it not? It was only a matter of time before the thirteen clans learnt about their existence on earth…
Why is it, you might wonder, that I am talking about two very different worlds?
Patience, children. We are only just getting started.
I know it is hard to believe in something when you have not seen it with your own eyes. Yet I can assure you magic is very real, how can I? I have seen it with mines.
Once upon a time, in a land which people believed had no magic, a sovereign reigned over his lands with kindness and fairness. He was good of heart, and loved by all. Well maybe not by all or there would not be any story to be told otherwise. You are familiar with the name Mufasa, are you not? Like most royal figure, he was envied. Nothing out of the ordinary, if not that it was his very own brother who envied him the most. Jealousy is a green monster who cannot be reasoned, and Scar could not be reasoned either. He schemed, and plotted against Mufasa countless times, and yet Mufasa remained , and Scar remained… well… nothing. But before all of this, before he was consumed by his own jealousy, Scar was a good man too. He was kind, and passionate. And this is the man young Zira fell for. This is the man she promised to help on the throne, and the man who she would have done everything for. And I do mean it, she would have done everything. Even letting the darkness in, even submitting to its alluring appeal, marrying it. Darkness came to her on a beautiful Summer night, clothed in black corduroy, a blood red smile perched on the edge of its lips. Darkness, bore an elegant name, Regina. From the start Zira knew she should be wary of this apparently dangerous Evil . But on that they agreed, Zira too wished herself , on Scar’s side. With a little help from the Dark One, Zira embraced darkness too. In the dark night the two women shared ancient and terrible secrets, binding their magic and much more even. What happened behind those sealed doors will remain a secret to us all, only Zira and Regina carry these heavy secrets. One thing is sure however, two women entered the room, two hearts got out – but only one woman did. The second stayed behind, heartless and broken beyond repair, perhaps beyond saving even. Alone, in the darkness. In this moment she became darkness herself.
Wicked smile.
Wicked words.
Wicked thoughts.
And yet another curse was cast. Her revenge over the Evil Zira shall be granted. When Regina would have found peace in her mind, then she would be avenged for the curse only then would be thrown upon her precious Storybrooke. When Regina would finally taste happiness, then Zira would taste revenge. She would take everything she had, destroy everything she had built, ruin everyone she had loved. A debt, is a debt. Eye for eye, broken heart for broken heart. When Regina would have accepted light in her heart, then Zira would take it all away. A jump in time, 132 years from now. And Regina would have to live knowing that everything, everyone she knew was long gone. And Zira would watch her break with delighted satisfaction. But she did not know that the old curses somehow linked Regina to Storybrooke and its inhabitants. When the Mayor fall into slumber, so did the rest of them, only waking up 132 years later, in a world destroyed by a nuclear apocalypse…
In a world of ruins and wrecks, were blood is poured continuously, who will live, who will die? And more importantly, which army will you choose as your own? Will you find shelter in Arkadia? Will you fight on the Grounders’ sides, will you live in thrive in Mount Weather led by the fearless immortals? Will Storybrooke still be able to protect you from the threats coming from everywhere? Will you be a hero, a villain?
What is your fate? One thing is sure, careful who you trust, as is so often the case, appearances are deceiving…
